The subjects that are not included in any of the three lists (Union List, State List, and Concurrent List) are called residual subjects. These subjects fall under the residuary powers of the Union Parliament.

This principle is established under Article 254 of the Indian Constitution, which states that if there is a conflict between a law made by the Parliament and a law made by the Legislature of a State on a subject in the Concurrent List, the law made by the Parliament prevails.
