Thapar University is no . 1 among other private institutions in computer science branch and 5 as a university in other categories.

In placements Thapar is any day better than srm , they come 8 in terms of placement .

The better engineering college among thapar university and SRM university is SRM university in computer science engineering. The SRM university has rank under top 20 engineering colleges in India where as THAPAR lies in under 30. So it is obvious that SRM has better university then Thapar. Now in the view of placement and packages, the srm has great placement with the average around 4 lakhs per annum and thapar gives around 3.5 lakhs per annum.

Basically the SRM has best option to take then THAPAR.

That institute is really one of the reputed institution of the national level.B.E.from thapar institute with cse is a good choice. If you are having keen interest in cse then I also suggest for it. Placement package and facilities of thapar institute Patiala are amazing.

If you are from north India then I suggest you should join Thapar University as compared to SRM University, Chennai. The placements are less or more the same in both the colleges, but if you are a north Indian, then you will find a hard time adjusting in Chennai, and it will be problematic and stressful to you.

First of all placements at Thapar University are much better than any campus of SRM.
Last year's Highest Package-23 Lakhs
This year's Highest Package-21 Lakhs
Also a company which offered 33 lakhs came to the campus this year but result has not been declared yet.
Average Package CSE -  7-8 Lakhs
Overall Average Package -  6-7 Lakhs

Also the latest syllabus is really awesome Not getting in much detail i will just mention that Student's are being taught C,C++ and Java in the first year itself.
