Hello,

According to the latest trends going on in the research field I would recommend you to think about MSc Microbial genetics and bioinformatics.

After securing a good rank in entrance exams you can go for colleges like IITs, IISc, IISER which have their separate departments for such studies.

Job Opportunities -

Researcher - One can join as a researcher in some government or private labs and can further continue education and research as well.

Lecturer - After clearing  CSIR-NET one can join as a lecturer in some university.

PHd-  A lot of students go abroad for PHd but make sure you have good academic background and research background with relevant information.

Lastly it depends on your interest and the amount of time you are willing to give to a particular field. Make sure you think about it. All the best.
