Hello dheeraj,

Previously, admittance to business schools was solely based on merit. Because of the increased number of candidates, most B-Schools have updated their MBA admission requirements, which are now based on an entrance exam. The following are some MBA tests that are approved in India. The CAT or GMAT is usually the basic necessary prerequisite of B schools in India. AICTE has approved six nationwide tests in total. Listing them below

  1. GMAT
  2. CAT
  3. MAT
  4. ATMA
  5. NMAT
  6. XAT
  7. CMAT

While the CAT, MAT, XAT, IIFT, NMAT, SNAP, and other exams are only recognised by associated institutions and a small number of B-schools, the GMAT is accepted by a far wider number of B-schools across India. A candidate who takes the GMAT exam has the advantage of being able to apply to business schools all around the world.

Though amongst all these examinations ATMA, and MAT are considered as compared to others.

Hope that helps you

All the Best
