Hi,
A major difference between Indian schools and all top US and European schools is the approach towards placements. In most international schools, it is the student who is encouraged to make the effort to inform, and by leveraging the considerable resources at the disposal of the school, make a considered choice of where he/she wishes to pursue a role.
Due to this, it might surprise some to know that most of the top schools do not have 100% guaranteed placement records at the time of graduation – in fact, most report a placement range of around 95%-99% 3 months after graduation date.
Now coming to your question, INSEAD is a better Global B School and IIMA is a better B school if you wish to work in the Indian market.
If you wish to pursue a career in India- IIM A is arguably the best bet. Studying abroad (in a college as great as INSEAD) could prove to be really bad ROI (without a scholarship of course).
However, if you wish to pursue an international career, INSEAD is the way to go. It can open doors to a truly international career. Far better than IIMA can.
You cannot compare top IIM & INSEAD directly. The profile of the students, professors and opportunities available are somewhat different.
Hope it helps.
Hello there,
Insead is better than IIM-A.
IIMA usually has students with less than 2 years of experience (mostly freshers) and INSEAD has students with average 5 years experience (most have extensive international experience as well). Even though IIMA has several bright students, the exposure that you will get at INSEAD will not be possible at IIMA.
Opportunities available at IIMA are mostly based in India, whereas from INSEAD they are more global.
Top IIMs have unbeatable reputation in India. But INSEAD is way ahead in reputation globally.
Hope this helps.
