Both are equivalent in terms of technical exposure. Considering Placements, in the software sector, B.Tech is more suitable whereas in the mechanical, civil and electrical sectors of various companies, a degree in polytechnic will give you the edge over others. If you are strongly bent towards polytechnic, then only go for it because it can limit your options in future.
