Marwar is the driest region in India as it lies in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan. It lies in the Jodhpur region in western Rajasthan. It lies in the northwest of the Aravalli Range. Thar desert is largely formed because of lack of rainfall, as most of the rainfall there is through southwest monsoon only which has almost lost all its moisture in its way through Indian landmass.
