Which option is best for .CA after 12 or after b.com ?
Hello.
The answer, as simple as it may seem, is not an easy one. Before going into the discussion, you need to understand what these two options can give you in return. And this will be based on your career plans. Now I know its very difficult to fix a career plan so early in life but having a good knowledge of the options and specially what we get from them can make it a meaningful task to choose what to do.
Lets' take both the option in detail.
1. CA with B.com - CA as a career opens a lot of opportunity for someone who has keen interest in commerce. As one grows in the field during preparation, one comes across many aspects of what a CA typically does such as Audit the accounts of an organization, Tax Consultancy wherein a CA provides expert advice on tax planning, applicability, and compliance with various tax deadlines including audit of accounts from the perspective of tax efficiency and efficiency. Another aspect is undertaking accounting of organizations / firms etc.
Apart from that there are many other fields which CA opens up are in finance, investment consultancy, fund management, financial planning and many more which can be explored after being a CA.
Now, amongst all this doing B. Com does not add much value as what is studied in B. Com is already there in CA and in greater detail. However, there is one thing where B. Com takes an edge over CA is the fact that CA is not a degree course but a professional course. Therefore, in case you wish to pursue MBA after CA for whatever reason, you would need to have a graduation degree i.e. B. Com as CA would not be considered relevant to apply for that. Though, CA is recognized to do PhD in many Indian Universities.
Therefore, my advice is that if you are pursuing CA, finish B. Com and with good marks as they are the base for MBA application and eligibility criteria. And it doesn't take much to pursue it as well.
1.
B.com
Honors - While B. Com Honours as a course is not as deep and specialized as that of CA and stands on a different level, but if done from a good college such as that of SRCC and others in Delhi NCR region, it commands a good respect in market and has its own value. Even the starting packages at times are at part with that of CAs in general. Having said that, it suits those who wish to pursue MBA as the college grooming and environment provides a good platform to someone to hone his or her skills in various fields and plan a career in commerce or management ahead.
I hope it helped you in some way. I suggest you visit the websites of colleges in Delhi NCR region to enquire more on B. Com Honours as a course to pursue.
