Some PSUs recruit manufacturing engineering students given that they apply through mechanical discipline in GATE exam.

These include NTPC, BHEL, GAIL, MDL, VIZAG, STEEL and SAIL . Although mechanical students are preferred, manufacturing students are also given chance.

Apart from GATE, Engineering Services Examination (ESE) and ISRO also recruit PI candidates but here also they have to appear through ME paper.
