Hello Ankitha Talagapu,
Actually it depends on both depending on admission is being given on the basis of which quota
There are following quotas :- Open, Obc, SC , ST and EWS.
First of all seats are allotted on the basis of open quota in which studemts from all quotas participate and preference is given on the basis of AIR.
Next will be EWS seats where EWS students will be participating on the basis of EWS category rankings.
Next OBC seats which will be filled by OBC, SC and ST students where AIR among these will be compared.
Next SC seats which are filled be SC and ST students by giving preference to higher AIR among SC and ST students.
Finally ST students where only ST students participate.
If after all these the female percentage is less than 17, then extra or supernumerary seats are made for Female candidates where female candidates are admitted through Female category ranks.
Just try to fill your choice where your ranks are closer to the closing ranks of that programme....
.
Hope this helps...
Thank you and all the best...
