Hi. If you apply under a reserved category, your category rank will be of utmost importance to claim the seat in any medical college. Lets say your all india rank is 10000, but your category rank is around 20, you have a good chance of getting a seat in your category as your category rank is high enough. So category rank will be considered then. But if the seats in your category exhaust, and you want to claim a general seat which is allotted strictly according to merit, your AIR or state rank matters more.
