Banaras Hindu University has announced the BHU UET 2019 exam pattern for admission to UG programmes like B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. on February 10, 2019. As per BHU UET 2019 exam pattern, BHU UET questions would be MCQ based and there would be negative marking. The UET for B.A. (Hons.) Arts and B.A. (Hons.) Social Sciences is scheduled to be on 12-05-2019 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Exam pattern-
There shall be a common test for B.A. (Hons.) Arts and B.A. (Hons.) Social Sciences.
There shall be one Paper of 120 minutes (Two hours) duration carrying 360 marks containing 120 multiple-choice questions. T hese questions shall be based on General knowledge and Current Affairs, General Mental Ability/Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and Language Comprehension. (from previous year trends, only language comprehensions had a separate section)
The Language Comprehension section will have two sets of multiple-choice questions, one each in Hindi and English, where the candidate is required to answer either the Hindi Language set or the English language set but not both. The standard will be of +2 Examinations or equivalent .
Marking scheme-
There shall be negative marking in entrance tests for all Courses of study in UET. Three marks shall be awarded for each correct answer while one mark shall be deducted for each incorrect answer. The unattempted question will be awarded zero marks.
How to prepare for the exam-
• For GK portion, books such as Lucent GK is suggested.
• For reasoning, pick up any reasoning book of your level and solve questions. Same is for grammar portion of the language.
• Since, there is going to be negative marking, solve only those questions about which you are sure. Many students lose their marks because they solved all the questions without even knowing answers.
