which sector has higher pressure among MBA and Engineering??
Hi,
Well, that depends on a lot of factors. First of all MBA exposes you towards the business side of things while engineering is more focused on technical side of things. But that doesn’t mean that an engineer can’t excel in business. Infact the startup generation of India is mostly from engineering background only and doesn’t have any formal management education.
Now there are no factors on which these 2 fields can be compared on a logical basis. For example, if a person is interested in technical work or research, he’ll go for engineering/science and if a person wants to be in marketing/Brand management, he’ll go for formal management education, but that doesn’t mean that an engineering graduate can’t be a good brand manager. World’s top consulting firms and investment firms hire from IIT’s, though the job profile is extremely business oriented such as business consultancy, Investment research, industry analysis etc. But they train them and transform them into “Techno-Managers”.
It all depends on your career aspirations and passion. Lot of youngsters become part of the mob mentality or under peer/parents pressure opt for science after 10th class to be an engineer (Preferably from IIT/NIT). But after studying in an engineering college for 1–2 years, they realize that its not their calling. So instead of pursuing science/engineering, they go for an MBA so that it gives them an opportunity to change their career stream.
Hope this helps
Wish you luck
