Which speciality in MBA is best in terms of salary and number of jobs?
Hi Silli,
In India or for any other country around the world, the package for MBA job depends upon,
- Level of college from where MBA is done,
- The roles offered by companies which come for placement
If you are in the top grade of colleges such as IIMs, then your starting salary will be easily around, INR 20 Lakhs per annum. If you are pursuing MBA from other reputed private colleges, then your salary package can be around, INR 10-15 Lakhs per annum. If you pursue MBA from any low to below average graded MBA college, then your initial salary can be around INR 5 to 6 Lakhs per annum. These are decided by the reputation of colleges. Good companies often chose reputed colleges as they can hire the cream of the talent from such institutions. Apart from this, one’s own talent has to come into play during the hiring rounds and must compete for the best package that is available to them.
Let me walk you through the lowest packages that were offered in top B-Schools,

All the very best!!
Hello Silli
Experience is the key factor in salary increment because it leads to value addition. No matter what specialization you do experience will lead you to divulge in all the fields.
However there are some management specializations which provide good profiles:
Marketing
Finance
Operations
Analytics
But still SALES tops all the above.
In MOST organizations, people who SELL always get paid more, cause that’s at the center of all the strategy. Only if you sell stuff then you generate money for salaries, people development, R&D expense, capital investment , vendor expenses, cost of buying raw materials etc.
If there’s no sales, none of the other activities can continue for long.
So that’s the reason people in sales are given the additional incentive.
