Both the field quite similar but petroleum engineering is more demadable and salary is high as compare to chemical engineering. In petroleum you learn about the crude oil related education like how they made and filtered, How they transmitted. In CE you get knowldge about various chemical processes used in indistry. So depending on your interest you go for that.

Scope of PE

  • The scope of different industries investing in the petroleum sector and collaboration with foreign investors has increased the recruitment drives for petroleum engineers.
  • The expansion of oil refineries on partnerships of government agencies with private organisations.
Scope of CE
  • conduct the research to develop an improved manufacturing process.
  • provide safety measures for those working with dangerous chemicals.
  • works on making products like food, and drinks.
  • protect the environment by providing health and safety standards.
As threre are big recruiter in PE like OilIndia,HPCL,IOCL etc.
So according to your interest choose branch.Good luck
Hope it helps!!
