The science stream (pcm) is required for architecture.
If you have already made your mind of doing course related to architechture then you should Go for Diploma in Architectural Assistantship as this course helps in learning basic building design along with digital drafting and modeling skills .

Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10th (with Mathematics, Science and English) or equivalent.

To get into Architecture in India. One has to take paper 2 of JEE or NATA. To get into IITs JEE paper 2 is a must. In other colleges NATA will do the job.
Eligibility for NATA - XII qualified with minimum 50% in PCM for general candidate.(you need to have PCM in your subjects)
I'll give you insight to first years syllabus of architecture.
Basic design- You'll be taught about form, aesthetics, design theories, elements of design, principles of design etc.
Objective - to let stufrnts develop their expression of design.
Architectural structure - force, movement load, structural components etc.
Objective - to make student understand the basic mechanism of a building.
Mathematics - Basic maths from 8th to 11th(algebric and geometry no calculas), Conversion, statistics, mathematics for business.
Architectural drawing - graphic representation of objects, computers, project based drawings, surface development, engineering drawings.
Building construction and materials - Building mechanics and materials used in building. From mud to steel.
Arts and graphics- color study, architecture representation, perspectives, hand rendering, views.
Workshop- surface carving, model making with paper, bamboo etc, architecture model making etc
Basic skill development - communication, basic programs like ms office, presentation, autocad etc.
These all skills will help you in your final and most important subject which is architecture design. From your concept to presentation.
And many many site visits!!
And finally answer to your question
You don't need to prepare before coming in architecture. Architecture is a 5 year course for a reason, because the first 2 years are the foundation years of the course.
So just prepare for your competitive exams which will have perspective drawings, composition from geometric shapes, aptitude, and finally maths.
