Hello,

If you want to know the most popular highly marking subject in IAS Mains Exam, then definitely geography, history, psychology, public ad and sociology are the best optional subjects. Sociology is very easy to understand, and the topics covered in it are related to the society that we are a part of. And you can secure very good marks in all these subjects.

Public administration and geography are the best subjects that can fetch more marks in the IAS exam. If we look at the past few years, most of the people have been scoring 350+ marks in public administration.

I hope this will help you.

All the best!!

Hello,

The eligibility for UPSC is passed Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university, so there's no such restriction about belonging to any specific stream or there's no minimum aggregate required, but if you're talking about graduation subject then you can choose certain subjects like public administration, political science, geography, economics, history etc. You can also have these as optionals as there's also availability of good study materials and these subjects more or less remain the part of UPSC Syllabus, but then it's not important that you have do graduation in only humanities stream, if you aren't sure right now about UPSC, you may also follow other career paths, many aspirants come from different backgrounds such as medical or engineering, and they too have qualified this exam, the planning , preparation, dedication and single-minded focus remain the same for every UPSC aspirant in order to crack the exam.
