There is no compulsion of any particular subject that should be taken in graduation for studying MSc physics at IIT'S as the admission is done through an entrance mode. But I would suggest you to take up either physics or mathematics in graduation because that would be very helpful to you in understanding the concepts at the post graduation level. Better understanding would eventually result in better placement opportunities with higher packages which is the final goal.

If you take physics for 4 semester (2 years) and Mathematics for 2 semesters (1 year), then you are eligible to take admission in MSc Physics at IIT but you need a score a good rank in IITJAM Physics.

The subjects that you should take to get admission in MSc physics in IITs are physics and mathematics. You have to take physics for three years/6 semesters and Mathematics for 1 year/2 semester in your graduation.
You have to pass your bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% marks for the General category and 50% marks for SC and ST candidates.
