Hello aspirant,
The UPSC Civil Services Exam is not limited to a certain stream's boundaries. All of the streams are satisfying in their own way. Students entering class 11 and planning to sit the UPSC IAS Exam confront a challenge in deciding which track to pursue: Science, Commerce, or Humanities, all of which are beneficial in the UPSC IAS Exam.
Although it is said that the candidate's attitude toward the exam, not the stream, increases the success rate. However, there is no doubt that the UPSC Exam syllabus favours Humanities. Humanities encompasses fundamental courses such as political science, sociology, geography, history, public administration, psychology, and economics, which make up the bulk of the general studies syllabus and carry the most weightage in both the Prelims and Mains, making it an attractive stream. As a result, high-scoring disciplines like Political Science, Sociology, and others provide applicants with a framework and understanding of administration, making it easier for them to succeed. If one has a solid foundation of these from the start, the struggle is already half-won.
