Hello Nupur,
Any student can apply Management in IIM. The basic eligibity criteria is that you should have completed you graduation by the time you join the IIM. So as long as you are a graduate or pursuing final year of graduation, you can take the CAT exam. Basis your CAT score, you will be shorlisted by IIMs for GD-PI rounds. Once you clear these rounds, a cuumulative score is taken and based on merit admission into IIM is granted to the student.
The basic eligibility criteria for CAT examination is to hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons With Disability (PwD) categories].
You can also apply if you are in your final year of graduation.
Application can be by anyone with a 50% score in bachelor degree.
From then onwards give Cat score well and score better in GD-PI-Wat in further rounds to get into an IIM.
All the best.

Hi Nupur,
To get into IIMs, we need to satisfy some conditions
All these are a must required to get a easy passage in IIMs.
all the best
Any degree holder with decent academics of 50% and above can apply for CAT. For the next round of selection after CAT and GDPI, academics would be considered to calculate the composite score. For this, having above 90% in 10th, 12th and degree will fetch the maximum points and keep decreasing with lesser grades.

Dear Nupur,
For pursuing an MBA degree in India you should hold a bachelors in any field. Also to eligible for admissions in various colleges a minimum percentage criteria is there. You can check the eligibility for various IIMs on there website. Ideally a minimum of 60 percent marks are sufficient to be eligible for admission. But higher the marks better the chances to get in.
A candidate with an undergraduat degree with atleast 50 % marks from a recognized university can apply for CAT (which is the entrance exam for admission to IIMs). Final year undergraduate students also can apply for CAT exam,
Hey Nupur!
A graduate from arts, commerce and Science background can apply for management in IIM through CAT exam. But, the candidate needs to have a minimum degree hold of 10+2+3 and 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in under graduation. And, in case you belong from the the reserved category (SC/ST and DA), you need 45% marks in Graduation.
Secondly, the final admission criteria depend upon your marks in 10th, 12th and graduation. So, if you have 90 per cent in 10th, 12th and 75 percentage above in undergraduate, you have a clear chance in old IIMs. There will be a bit of-of relaxation in your past academic marks in the new IIMs.
According to the IIM admission criteria 2019-21, to apply in any IIM, you must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT). Candidates who fulfil the first stage of the admission criteria (CAT) are called for WAT and PI rounds. Different IIMs as per their admission criteria offer admissions to the selected students. I suggest you to take a look at the IIM Admission Criteria 2019-21 which will give you a fair idea of the academic qualifications based on 10th and 12th marks, graduation and work experience profile, and also percentile required in CAT and cutoff across the various categories. This will bring more clarity to you and help you shortlist the IIMs as per whatever fits your profile.
Now, in order to appear for CAT, as a basic eligibility, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50 per cent marks (for General category) and 45 Percent (for SC, ST and PWD category) or equivalent CGPA from any recognised university. Different IIMs give different weightages to Performance in CAT, WAT & PI, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience etc.
