B. Sc. Optometry is an Undergraduate Program offered by many Institute. Optometry is a health care profession which deals with the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system. One should have completed 10+2 (science stream) with at least 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together in order to do a Bachelor's degree in optometry. After taking a BSc degree, students can opt for M. Opt, M. Phil., M.S. Depending on the scope of practice within the state, both optometrists and ophthalmologists can perform eye surgery. However, optometrists are limited in the surgeries they can perform while ophthalmologists can perform any and all surgical procedures they are trained for.
