Hello,

  • The main area of differences between a Deemed University and a Private University is in the norms that is required to be followed. The Private Universities have to follow a lot of norms and regulations which the Deemed Universities don’t.
  • A deemed university  is a college or institution with a name of the university, there is a single college or institution only and it is more free and flexible as compared to the Private Universities.
  • A deemed university cannot run only by offering course in various subjects. There has to be some research field also that should run under the university. This condition is not necessary for the Private University. While, a Private University  only needs to set up a college under it with the norms of the Human Resources Department.
  • A Deemed University has the right to carry on its own educational affairs. This includes the  conduct of examination and set up of the syllabus, unlike in case of Private Universities.

Thank you!
