Bangalore university  (BU) is an older university when compared to VTU. The number of batches passed out of BU is much higher than VTU. BU has a heritage(Central College, UVCE, University Law College which are older than BU itself). Syllabus point of view both VTU and BU syllabus are correlative and almost similar when compared to VTU. VTU however only runs technical courses(BE/M.Tech) along with MCA/MBA whereas BU has a wide range of courses BSc/BCA/MSc/MA/BE/Law/ME/MBA,MCA,etc.



BU is one of its own kind and definitely much more student friendly than VTU and awards better marks than what VTU can award. VTU is a scam, height of corruption and should not be compared with BU as BU is got a reputation of its own.



History of BU dates back to 1886 which was established as Central College and was converted into a full fledged University in 1964.

VTU was established only in the year 1998. A university is always judged on the number of batches it has educated.On this grounds, Bangalore University is the Best and Incomparable to any other University in Karnataka.

Both are government colleges and both are decent colleges for management studies.

Out of both you can choose Bangalore University as it has been established in 1964 and is an old institute.



The placements are average in both. You can expect a decent package in Bangalore university which is approx 3 lakhs per annum.
