VIT Vellore is better than Chennai campus. Main branch always has its own benifits.
Placements: Most placements happen in Vellore. Students from Chennai often come to Vellore for placements and fests. Opportunities are more in Vellore as compared to Chennai.
Campus: Vellore has huge so it has better labs and infrastructures.
Study :Well if you compare the quality of study then they are almost same but as said Vellore has more exposures.
Competition: I would also like to mention that Vellore has more competition than Chennai.

VIT is best for placement and studies both, There's good scope of placement there, in VIT as compared to other engineering colleges,it is very good for studies, it also offer Internship which gives real time experience,so overall VIT is good
