The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to Architecture.
NATA will be conducted twice this year - the 1st attempt will be held around mid-April and second around 1st week of July.
Online application form of NATA 2019 for April attempt will open around 3rd week of January. And will be available on the official website- http://www.nata.in/
The result of NATA 2019 will be declared around 1st week of June, in the form of score cards. To qualify in NATA
, candidates must score minimum 25% marks in MCQ and Drawing portions, and score equal to or more than overall qualifying marks, which will be decided post exam. Candidates who qualify in NATA 2019 will be eligible for admission in recognized Architectural Institutions across the country for B.Arch course.
Exam Pattern

- Duration - 3 hours
- Types of Questions asked and Mode of exam –
- Part A: This part will include multiple choice questions only which have to be answered online.
- Part B: Subjective questions will be asked in this part which have to be answered on A4 Size drawing sheets (offline).
- Number of questions - Total 62 question.Part A will have 60 questions from Mathematics and General Aptitude sections. Each question carries 2 marks. Part B will have two questions only (Drawing-based). Each question carry 40 marks.
- Total Marks - 200 with no negative marking.
- Language of paper - English only
Eligibility
:
- The candidate must have either passed/appearing in 10+2.
- The candidate must have scored minimum 50% marks in aggregate in physic, chemistry and mathematics. Further, the candidate needs to score minimum 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.
- The candidate must be minimum 17 years of age as on July 31, 2019.
- Diploma candidates are no longer eligible for admission to architecture program. The MHRD has mandated that candidates need to pass 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics scoring 50% marks in the three subjects and also in aggregate.
Application Form-
Admission authorities will release application form of NATA 2018 in online mode tentatively in 3rd week of January. The first stage of filling NATA 2019 is registration, during which one has to enter details like name, valid email id and mobile number. Post successful registration, fill relevant sections of the form, upload documents, and pay the application fee.
