NIT Hamirpur is ranked 60th by the NIRF while DTU ranked 36th amongst the top engineering colleges in India. Computer Science is one of the most sought-after branches and attracts lucrative offers. DTU and Nit  are considered amongst the best institutes to pursue CSE.
Placements:

NIT Hamirpur

The highest package reaching up to INR 1.2 crore per annum and average package ranging between INR 6.5-8 lacs per annum.

Average placement rate has been around 90%

Top recruiters were Bloomberg, Infosys, Oracle, SAP amongst 70 others

DTU

Average placement rate has been around 100% for CSE

120 companies took part in the hiring process with McKinsey, Google, Microsoft, Uber, BCG, Apple being the top recruiters

Highest CTC was 1.02 crore p.a while average CTC was 12 LPA

In CSE, 20% students received PPOs in their pre-final year with an average stipend of 25,000.

Chemical engineering at NIT Hamirpur is good. Placements are nice here. For the last session, around 80% of the students got placed.  The highest package was 17 LPA while the lowest was around 3.5 LPA. Top companies like Samsung, UHG, EXL, L&T, Capgemini, GAP etc. visit the campus.

Chemical branch is also good at DTU. For the last session, around 70-80% of students got placed. The highest Package was around 16 LPA whereas the lowest was 4.5 LPA and the average was around 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Maruti Suzuki, IOCL etc.

Both are nearly same in Chemical placements, but go for DTU, as it is old and very reputed college.
