while joining for B.Tech submitting all kinds of documents that you are asked to provide are necassary. Because Document verification is done by the authority of college or university and if you fail to submit these documents that are asked to provide then you will not get admission. 

Like if you fall in OBC NCL category then submit documents related to it like OBC NCL certificate from SDM office. If you dont, then you will not fall in OBC NCL category and will automatcally come under GEneral category and would not get benefit of it.

See,  Each college has its own rules and regulations,  they all demand more or less documents,  but most of the colleges do ask for your class 10th and 12th marksheets,  you have to submit at least your class 10th and 12th class marksheets. Some colleges return the documents and other colleges may keep the documents with them..
