Both streams have opportunities depending on the sector :
For example, in Campus Placement ECE has far more opportunities ,
But in Government Sector (through Engineering Service Exam) and in PSUs , Civil Engineering is preferred over ECE...
So, I suggest, You should go with your area of interest and type of job who want to land at...

Hello, every branch is good and placements, job opportunity also depends on students, colleges, industry.
But In my opinion EC branch has Higher job opportunity and placement then civil engineering.
As EC branch mostly focus on Electronics and computer Engineering. And syllabus for EC branch are very good means it comes behind CS/ It branch.
Government jobs are more. An average EC Engineer earns more than a civil engineer.
And many companies give higher salary to EC branch students.
While, Civil Engineering branch mostly focus on structural design, project manager, and field work also civil engineering placements wise is behind EC branch.
But the most important thing is that all things depends on colleges, students if you have Civil Engineering and works on coding skills you can get a good placement.
