First Chief Minister of India was Govind Ballabh Pant. On 26 January, 1950 Govind Ballabh Pant, became the first Chief Minister of newly renamed Uttar Pradesh State. Out of 21 Chief Ministers, 11 of them belongs to Indian National Congress.
