PIL or Public Interest Litigation is directly filed by an individual or group of individuals in the Supreme Court or any Court of Law. This petition is accepted by the court when there is interest of large public involved.
PN Bhagwati,the 17th Chief Justice of India introduced the concepts of PIL and absolute liability in India.
