The Constituent Assembly commissioned B. N. Rao to serve as its constitutional adviser as it drafted the Indian Constitution. He created a Draft Constitution based on the discussions in the Constituent Assembly and the reports of the various subcommittees. By October 1947, the Draft Constitution was complete and delivered to the Drafting Committee.
