The province of Bengal was one of the wealthiest provinces in India. In 1756 AD, Sirajuddin Daulah assumed the title of Nawab of Bengal and took over the European's factory in Kolkata. In this battle, Siraj-ud Daulah was ambushed by his own troops and was defeated by British troops. After the battle, Daulah was forced to resign and British forces named Mir Jafar the new Nawab of Bengal
