CAT is Common Admission Test, a management aptitude exam to get admission in IIM's and premier management institutes across India. And, secondly GAT stands for Gitam aptitude test which is an aptitude based examination for admission in Masters in pharmacy programme. The eligibility criteria is you need to be graduate with atleast 50 percent marks in B.PHARMACY from any recognised university and pass the GAT Exam. Central and State board toppers after 10+2 can directly apply for it and they also need not to appear in GAT Examination. CAT means creative ability test for NIFT and this test is designed to assess the ability and visual power (observation) of a candidate in terms of design.
GAT is general ability test or a written exam for all the five courses offered by NIFT, it is the first exam for getting NIFT either for bachelor or Masters.
To apply for nift here is the procedure...
1) application form...you have to fill the form in official site of design school, fee will be paid online and keep the photocopy of the fee.
2) download the admit card from official site of NIFT.
3) exam is divided into 4 sections
.CAT... creative ability test
.GAT... general ability test
. Situation test
. Interview
You can fill the form for this year in the month of December, nift form come twice in a year.
