why are most of the recent iitians teaching in institutes rather than getting jobs even after getting under 500 AIR rank?
It is there personel choice whether they want to work with private firm or want to to for startups or go in a teaching field,etc.
Teaching is one of the noble job and nowdays it is also the job with high perks and satisfaction.Actually after completing their degree they have many options on working with private firms but one of the problem working with private firms is that many person not able to get satisfaction with the job.

Well, its totally depends on the person and there personal choice of what to pursue in future. Apart from this people who decided to go for teaching may have a feeling of contributing something to society.
Also people may feel that teaching is better profession instead of doing job under some other person.

How a person pursues their career is specific to the interest of the person himself and it is not necessary that they go down the normal lane. If somebody has interest in teaching and not in 8-6jobs then it is their choice and perspective.
Also teaching in coaching institutes has awesome packages.
