Why density of solid is equal to density of unit cell of solid crystal??

Hello, density is an intensive property of any substance .and you know that density =mass /volume thus if you decrese or increse given volume mass also automatically decreses or increses accordingly thus density of any substance remain fixed irrespective of these changes.
