Hello,

DNA copying is an important part of the reproduction process because an organisms complete genetic information is contained within the DNA. If the DNA mutates, then there is a chance that the resulting organism may be born with a malformations or other genetic irregularity.

The replication of DNA make sure that each daughter cell formed at the end of cell division, receives equal amount of DNA.

Thank you.

Hey!

Each daughter cell generated at the end of cell division receives an equal quantity of DNA due to DNA replication.  If the daughter cells' DNA is not replicated, they will not obtain all of the required genes. If DNA is not duplicated, there might be a lack of critical proteins encoded by DNA.  Recombination, which leads to evolution, may be caused via DNA copying. When genetic material is passed down from one generation to the next, creatures with similar functions are created.
