Yup, you are write.

But most of the people target IIT's and NIT's for exposure and placements.

The quality of lifestyle in IIT's and NIT's are far way better than other engineering institutes of India.

In terms of education, they have well qualified and experienced faculty for teaching( even students of other institutes watches lectures of IIT's for studies. They also well equipped labs with all the latest technologies to work on.

Well yes.

This can be explained with various reasons. One is IITs and NITs are well known institute for engineering, and it's true. One can think of his/her better future after graduation because study is good in these institutes.

Second reason is psychological, that student follow their seniors or classmates. One start other 5 follow him. This is because 15 lakh students sit for JEE mains every year.

Hope it helped.

  • because IITs/IIITs/NITs are the " INSTITUTE OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE" and funded by " MHRD". There is much difference between a national college and a state colleges. Colleges funded by MHRD have better infrastructure, quality of education, quality placements, Big collaboration with different institute than any other state college. Moreover you will get a tag such as IITian, IIITian and NITian for your lifetime and this tag are very valuable.
  • As you mention that same knowledge is being taught, no it is not all the same. profs in  IITs/IIITs/NITs are very well qualified and most of them hold phds from foreign universities. so level of teaching is different.
  • Level of course, normally in state colleges "DATA-STRUCTURES, OPERATING SYSTEMS" which are very tough courses of Computer science taught in 4th or 5th sem. In IITs/IIITs you will be learning this courses in your very 2nd semester and 3rd semster.

Truly said Venkat!

The talent can be found in anyone who works hard enough for his/her goals. But only IIT's and NIT's are taken into consideration then the process of placements and other opportunities become a bit smooth. In private colleges sometimes you could get good opportunities but sometimes it's not the case. That's the reason why most people go for IIT's and NIT's. Well TALENT+PRIVILEGE is always greater than merely TALENT. And in order to cover that difference, one have to go for TALENT+HARD WORK.

That's why!

I hope you got your answer.

PS: NONE CAN BEAT HARD WORK, AND YOU SURELY WOULD GET TO YOUR GOAL IF YOU HAVE WORKED HARD!

-cheers :)

Hello Venkat..!

See, first of all I agree wholeheartedly with you that talent and success needs no IITs or NITs to grow. If you are willing enough, you can conquer your dreams from anywhere.

But coming to your question about 12th students aspiring majorly for IITs and NITs. You see, most of these colleges have made a reputation for them over the years Venkat. The companies know them well, the students know them well and even your random citizen knows about them. Our society has related engineering to IITs and NITs, maybe too deeply.

There's no doubt that IITs and other reputed institutes definitely give you a boost to excel, but that works only if you are willing to do so. Their alumni have brought many laurels for the country. IITs and NITs have definitely produced great talents.

But in the end, the fact is that not everybody from IITs or NITs reach the same heights Venkat and also anybody from anywhere can become successful if they have the required dedication and perseverance.

Hi there!!!

12th graduates always aim for IIT'S & NIT'S as everyone want good faculties , placements and facilities. In private  engineering colleges there are not that good placements ,you can say that  there are average placements, also due to not having fair process of selection of faculties ,most of the faculties are not good while in government colleges (IIT'S & NIT'S) , selection procedure is fair enough ,other than this placement is what plays a major role In IIT's & Nit's ,lots of companies visits every year and the average package is also very good and far better than private colleges , many big giants ,mnc's too visits the campuses so everybody prefers for IIT'S & Nit's ..

Hope you got your answer,Do upvote the answer if it helped you...

Hello !

In private colleges ,most of the service related company comes like tcs, infosysy etc. in which any student from any branch can attend the interview.

But in IITs and NITs ,all product based companies like Microsoft,Apple,Google..  go there so students gets a good packages and learn there.

In addition to this i think society also matters, if a child is in IIT then he and his family would have a great respect in Society.

This fascinates all the students which makes them prepare hard to get into this.

Yours point is also correct. I personally feel that college does not matter much.. how you develop yourself during those four years matters alot.  If you have taken those four years seriously in any college you can beat even IITians. You can go for Off campus placement .

Thanks

Hello Aarushi, As a matter of fact, all those which you have stated precisely are also available in other colleges as well, it is not only in those Institutes! Why choosing them itself. Satya Nadella hasn't done his graduation from IITs but now he is running one of the most demanded MNCs on the planet!
