why do many people don't mention joint international Programme in food science and technology as a course whenever there's discussion about courses offered at IIT Guwahati?

Unlike computer science and allied fields food science and technology offer lower placement packages. According to my opinion there is no ranking/hierarchy between branches but there's a placement variable to decide the popularity of a particular branch. In case you wish to study Food Science and Technology from IIT Guwahati you are most welcome to do that. At top colleges like IIT Guwahati you'll get great exposure for your career and higher studies.
