    why does not distiled water conduct electricity

    Dear student,

    The ions are responsible in a solutions to conduct electricity. Distilled water is a pure  water which does not contain any ions in it therefore it cannot conduct electricity. While if we consider normal water then it cam conduct electricity because it has ions in it.
