Why home state cutoff for nit nagpur greater than nit trichy? I mean ,cutoff for cse vnit is 900 while for cse Trichy is 1300 ( hs) shouldn't it be the opposite?

it depends on demand. even NIT trichy is one of the top NIT campus but it may not be for CSE. it can be for other branch like EEE,ECE , ETC, ME ..etc.
branch demand varies by location. at IIT campus, even civil and mechanical engineering is in demand when the very same branch is overlooked in private college just because it doesn't have future scope.
Scope is given by college campus and students earn it by skills. That all it matters.
