Why is NSUT(formerly NSIT) Delhi NCT, has better Placement median salary than DTU(Delhi Technical University) even though former has lower ranking than latter. (For context NIRF has marked the median package for NSUT as 11 lakhs and whereas for the same yer DTU us marked as 9 lakhs.)

Yes, youre correct, according to NIRF the Median Pay for NSUT is 11 LPA while that of DTU is 9 LPA, while the former has a lower rank than latter. Firstly the ranking doesnt depend only on Placements but a lot many parameters like Faculty, Citations Produced, Infrastructure and many other factors. Secondly, DTU and NSUT have almost comparable placements as far as CSE, IT, Electronics and Electrical Branches are concerned, however, DTU has more branches than NSUT, with many branches having lower placements with lower median packages, which further lowers the Pay Median of the University. Hence, DTU is at 9 LPA while NSUT at 11 LPA.
