Hi,
For jee main January sessions total 8,69,010 candidate have appeared for the exam. Although the number of candidate for april 2020 session has not been declared but around 11-12 lakh students may have enrolled for the exam.
As the nta jee main exam is conducted Oline computer based mode. To held the test of such large number of candidates in one day is difficult. So nta conducts exam in different days.
And now due to the covid -19 they have to take extra care of social distancing. Again in one day it will be difficult to imply all the security measures.
So these are the possible reason of nta conducting the exam in 5-6 days.

Because of pandemic the JEE authority has increased the no. of exam centers and there are more shifts compared to the previous year. So that the students can be divided and to make sure there is no chance of gathering outside the exam centers.
