why meerut is pronounced as merath.. and by LUCKNOW IN SAME CASE... ?

Hi,
Meerut is located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a city and district headquarters in Meerut division. The city is famous for its historic monuments, such as the Taj Mahal, Qila Mubarak and the ancient fortifications. The old town of Meerut has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The city was founded by Akbar’s general Mirza Muhammad Hakim Khan on 15 October 1568 with the name “Muzaffar-ud-din Nagari” (City of Victory).
Merath is the "HINDI TERM" of Meerut. There is not any difference in places.
