Why not every fertilisation in human leads to pregnancy??

For successful fertilisatiin, male gamete and ovum should meet simantenously at ampulla ishtmus junction in fallopian tube and this is not possible all the time sometimes sperm reaches earlier or sometimes ovum reaces so not every copulation can success in this process
