Your JEE mains 2021 will be conducted in four sessions i. e
*February session
* March session
*April session.
* May session
One is free to appear in all the four session or only in 3 sessions or only two sessions or even only one session , so it's entirely student's choice. So if you have not prepared well for your JEE mains February session and need more time then you always have the option to skip it and appear in rest of the sessions.
And
When a candidate appears in more then one sessions then the best performance out of the attempted sessions will be considered for admission i. e if you appear in all the 4 or 3 or 2 session of Jee mains, then your best score out of these attempts will be considered for your admission process. So I would definitely suggest you to attempt all the 4 sessions
Now, coming to why NTA is conducting 1st session in February and more 3 sessions are there , then these are reasons:-
* your 1st attempt in February will give you 1st time real experience of the examination and you will get to know your weak areas which you can improve in the next session
* This will reduce the chances of dropping a year as if you are not satisfied with your performance in 1st session, you can impove in other sessions as you get opportunity of attempting of all the 4 sessions
*If anyone misses the examination due to reasons like illness, Board examination on the same date as that of jee mains , then he or she won't have to wait for one full year.
In short,
Conducting 4 sessions of jee mains will provide candidates multiple opportunities to improve their scores in jee mains if they are not able to give their best shot in one attempt.
Thank you
