Convex mirrors are used in the vehicles because convex mirrors give erect, Virtual, full size diminished image of distinct image with wider field of view. Due to this convex the driver can view much wider view than using any other mirror. This helps in the safe driving as the driver can see whats behind them.

Hello Aspirant,

Convex mirrors are commonly used as rear-view (wing) mirrors in vehicles because they give an erect, virtual, full size diminished image of distant objects with a wider field of view. Thus, convex mirrors enable the driver to view much larger area than would be possible with a plane mirror.

Good Luck
