Don't be confused. The course curricullam of IT and CS are 90% same . I am student of IT department in NIT Surathkal , so I compare the course and found same with CSE. More over, the average package is also same ,on 2018-19 session the average package for CS and IT is 18 LPA in my college.So dont get confused. BEST OF LUCK!!!!

There is not a lot of difference in B.Tech Computer Science and B.Tech IT,  first of all,  to read the difference between both,  visit the following link...

Now,  you must have seen that both the courses are similar in many aspects,  so you can choose any of them,  but if you have to choose one of them ,  I would suggest you to opt for computer science engineering because B.Tech CS has a broad syllabus than B.Tech IT.

In one line cse is about making computers ,codind programmes  and it is about its functions related to computer system like installing ...more or less companies will be same and dont worry about placement u will get same if u do hardwork ....

We understand the reason for your concern. There is not a lot of difference between CS and IT engineering courses, A person who does CS and another person who does IT get the same job or placement, also note that if you aere getting a college nearby to your house offering you IT then please go for it , it is better than going to a far college for CS course.Hope this helps.
