Hello,
According to the Human Resource and Development Ministery, the 10% reservation in education to Economically Weaker Sections of general category will be implemented from the academic year 2019-20.The intention of the government is that nearly 25 per cent seats need to be added to ensure that the reservation does not impact the existing quota for SC, ST and other categories. Since Central Universities belonging to information and management sector are among those higher educational institutions where the reservation will be implemented; then surely the additional quota of EWS will be extended to the National Law Universities as well. Since, National universities do not directly come under Central Universities but under State Universities, the 10% reservation in the NLUs will therefore depend on how and when respective States choose to implement it. Also, since the sudents have already completed the 2019 CLAT Application forms, the governing bodies are yet to decide the effective implementation of the additional quota on all national and state levels for the academic year 2019-2020. So, to answer your question, yes the CLAT administration will provide the reservation category in the application form itself of 2020 and the implementation would be much better than the present situation. Good Luck!
