Will i get govt mbbs seat in Tamilnadu under state quota with 496 marks from general category
It's a good score. Hope you are doing well. It is difficult for you to get government seat for mbbs in AIQ as well as in state quota. But you can try for semi government seat or private seat or you can also try for government bds, bams, bhms, veterinary, etc.
For government seat in state quota you need to score around 550 + for mbbs and 540+ for bds in general category.

Hello,
To predict whether you will definitely get a seat in a college is an uphill task as cut-offs for colleges change every depending upon several factors such as-
• Number of applicants in NEET exam
• NEET question paper difficulty level
• Score of the candidates in NEET 2021 result
• MBBS/BDS seat matrix 2021
NEET 2021 Cut-off goes like :-
• General - 50th percentile
• SC/ST/OBC - 40th percentile
• General-PwD - 45th percentile
• SC/ST/OBC-PwD - 40th percentile
Now since the NEET paper this year was a bit tough compared to level of paper of previous years, so the cut-off is expected to lie between the cut-offs in the year 2020 and 2019.
You are from Tamil Nadu and belong to General category.
Now considering all the points made above it would be very difficult for you to get admission in Government Medical Colleges in Tamil Nadu for MBBS course.
Though you can try for private colleges where you have good chances and can also try BDS and BAMS course.
Private Colleges where you can get seat are -
• Velammal Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai
• Trichy (SRM) Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Trichy
• Tagore Medical College and Hospital, Chennai
• Sri Muthukumaram Medical College and Hospital
• Sree Moogambigai Institute of Medical Sciences, Kanyakumari
• Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Kancheepuram
