Hello Shibu, Yes, the MAT is for MBA... other than MAT exams like CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT/NMAT and more are too for MBA... These exams are called MBA entrance exam... and colleges that accept MAT scores are based on percentile cutoff as mentioned in below LINK:

AIMA conducts MAT Entrance exam four times a year ( February, May, September, and December) for the admissions to MBA/PGDM programmes at various Management institutes. Management Aptitude Test is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate MBA colleges in India to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes.

Four MAT exams are scheduled to be held in the year for admission to MBA 2018-20 and for 2019-21. The first Management Aptitude test in 2018 leading to admission MBA 2018-20 more than 400 MBA colleges across the country was held on Sunday 4 as paper based test and on February 17 2018 as online computer based test.

The four MAT 2018 are conducted in the months of February, May, September, and December.While MAT 2018 February is over, the next MAT 2018 is scheduled on MAY 6 in paper based format and on May 20 in computer based mode.

MAT score validity :one year

The MAT may 2018 exam will be valid for admission in academic session 2018-2019.The list of MAT colleges accepting MAT score is published by AIMA for each MAT exam separately.
